The Four Week Session is designed for students who love theatre who want to be a part of CGST's major productions. It's a rigorous, exciting program dedicated to actor training, outdoor fun, and production of shows. Besides being a great opportunity to learn about theatre and explore the outdoors, CGST provides a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and build close friendships.
The mornings and afternoons are filled with theatre classes. After dinner, we will hold rehearsals for the shows.
The CIT program is designed for students ages 16 - 19 who want the benefit of being a member of the staff, while still being a student at CGST. CITs enroll as four weeker students, but are expected to do a few additional duties and to take on more of a leadership role. They also attend the staff orientation week, where they receive some leadership training. Once the campers arrive, the CITs are viewed primarily as students, but also as adjunct staff. The CITs will have weekly meetings with the Camp Director to discuss potential student concerns and to weigh in on staff decision.
There is no additional charge for the CIT program over the four weekprogram, even those they are on campus for an extra few days at the beginning of the summer (Staff Orientation) and at the end of the summer (Staff Clean up).
Enrollment in the CIT program requires both a student application and a staff application. CITs are not guaranteed work in future summers as a camp counselor, but the training is designed to give these students a leg up for future employment.
