Columbia Gorge School of Theatre - John Schneider and his Son
"Our son's acting ability has improved DRAMATICALLY since he's been attending Columbia Gorge School of Theatre!"

says John Schneider, star of "Smallville," "The Dukes of Hazzard" and co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network.

Suburban Dreams

Columbia Gorge Repertory Theatre presented Stephen Thompson's new musical Suburban Dreams and Judd Blaise's hilarious, historically inaccurate farse, The Private Life of Sir Isaac Newton at the Producer's Club Theatre II, 616 9th Avenue, between 43rd and 44th Streets in New York City from May 6 - 30, 1999. Jesse Merz directed both productions.

Suburban Dreams is a funky commentary on modern society - a rock musical with traditional musical theatre themes, as well. It takes place in Average, USA, where everyone is the same and happy -- on the surface. Underneath it all is a corrupt mayor, sly journalist, high school kids who aren't angels, and a school system with a habit of burning books. In walks Jeff Douglas, a 23 year old idealistic teacher who tries to change the system. Eventually, a sex scandal rocks the high school and turns Average upside down.
